Our studio membership was created with the spirit of the modern matriarch in mind — to support the people who focus so much on nurturing the growth of others that the time and energy for their own creative practice becomes displaced. Membership is a monthly commitment to protecting time for yourself and the creative and/or professional goals that would be benefitted by access to a private space outside of your home.
Members include: women with small businesses in need of a private, inviting environment to meet clients or students in person or online, artists returning to creative passions after years away, makers working on personal projects, friends building in time to reconnect, and caretakers craving a quiet, private space to explore ideas without interruption.
Studio Membership
May Tree Arts members contribute a monthly Studio Stewardship Fee of $125. This supports the ongoing care of the studio, including maintenance, replenishment of shared art supplies and studio necessities, and the thoughtful upkeep of a welcoming, intimate space designed for creativity and reflection.
Your membership includes:
Access to the May Tree Arts booking calendar and 16 hours of private studio booking time each month
Unlimited access to additional available booking times (additional hours are billied at $10/hr)
Secure private storage space for small, ongoing creative projects and personal supplies
Opportunities to host and attend workshops in the studio or larger shared workspace on the first floor
Opportunities to share your work and collaborate with other studio members (but no expectation of peopling if that’s exactly what you’re seeking less of!)
Attached private bathroom, wireless internet, and all the hot tea, random art supplies, and warm feminine energy you can handle.
Studio Time
Private access is available for booking Wednesday-Sunday, 8AM–10PM. Daily availability is subject to the reservations of other members; please schedule in advance to secure your preferred times. You are welcome to bring guests or meet students/clients (the space can accomodate 6), and use your time however you need to. We love your pets, but cannot allow them in the space to protect members with allergies. We appreciate you following the campsite rule, and leaving the space as clean as you found it for the next visitor.
Whether you’re carving out time to paint, write, knit, read, change your mind, start over, make a mess or make progress on a long-loved project (or both!), the studio is here when you need it.
